c/o Acid Jazz’s Twitter, a new, short interview with Matt! Loads of goodies in this one, but ultimately I am confused. He makes no mention of Music for Insomniacs. Has he scrapped it, renamed it, or just moved on and isn’t thinking about it anymore? And I am currently shaking my fist in his direction over that keeping things secret answer.
Does anyone know what is going on with the So Low single release? Originally I heard it would be out August 1st, then September 1st and yet there’s no sign of it (even on Acid Jazz’s website). What’s the scoop? The video was released ages ago. I want the single.
Here’s another Acid Jazz artist, The Third Degree. An amazing cover of Duffy’s Mercy. This is how hers should have sounded (I’m not a Duffy fan). In the comments it says the singer for The Third Degree sings back-up for Duffy. That must have been a bit awkward when she heard his far superior version of her song!
In direct contrast to the terrible Little Roy (or whatever his name was) covers of Nirvana on Steve Lamacq’s Roundtable last week, I give you this hammond organ cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit by Pleasure Beach. Awesome!
By the way, Pleasure Beach are signed to Acid Jazz. In my efforts to support independent labels after the rioting, I am discovering some excellent new music.
